The computer labs have been scheduled for updating at HQ on Wed., Feb. 27th; at South and East on Thurs., Feb. 28th.  The updates will have Microsoft Office 2007 and address some performance issues.

suzanne gets TP-ed

A few mischievious employees had some fun yesterday...

The thing that disturbed Suzanne the most was that her key card no longer worked on the door (thanks to a certain tech-savvy employee!).  She said, "I thought the county had taken my access away early!" 

Dara's new baby has arrived

Congratulations to Dara, Tom, and Kaitlyn Cain on the newest addition to thier family.

Emma Grace arrived at 7:22 am, Wednesday, February 13th.

Her Stats: 8lbs 1oz and 19" long.

We finally received the 1040-A instruction booklets, but were informed that it could take 3-4 more weeks for other federal forms and instructions to arrive.  In the meantime, we can print copies for patrons at a cost of $0.10 per page, or they can request forms from the state and/or federal government.

11:30am - 1:30pm in the staff lounge at HQ

new search box feature

Someone was asking about how to convert a file from .ODT to .DOC today.  I knew I had done a blog post about it, but when I went to refer them to the post, I realized just how tricky it was to find it.  So...  I have added a search box in the top right corner of each blog.  Rather than trying to remember, "Was it October?  No.  Maybe November?" or trying to figure out the label name, you can now plug in a few keywords ("file conversion", for example) and it'll take you right to the post.  Happy hunting!

farewell dinner

Although we hate to do so, it appears that we must say goodbye to Suzanne.  Therefore, we are planning going-away dinner for Friday, Feb. 8 at Pancho Villa’s (East Innes St., Salisbury) at 6:30.

Dinner will be Dutch Treat.

Please let [Melody] know by Thursday, February 7 at noon if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party so that we may make arrangements at the restaurant.

Please plan to bring your significant other and help us celebrate Suzanne’s 18.5 years at RPL.
