If a patron wants to volunteer at the library and is at least 16 years old, please have them fill out a volunteer application and background check. Send completed forms to Melody with any notes regarding what they are looking to do, if you feel they would be a good volunteer, etc. All volunteer applications have to be approved by the county before we can set up volunteer times. Applications can be found on Commons - N:\Volunteer\volunteer with background check.pdf

From Edward: The wireless access points are being upgraded over the next few days (South should already have this, East on 03/21, and HQ early next week). "rowannc-wifi" will replace "rowanncguest" and "rowan-static". Public users will see a splash screen and "static" users will bypass that page automatically. We are hopeful that our patrons will soon be able to print wirelessly from their laptops.
In celebration of Money Smart Week (April 20-27) and Earth Day (April 22), the library is planning some fun programs including home organization, recycled crafts, home gardening, and a Swap Shop on Sat., April 20th, 10-2. A "Swap Shop" is basically a yard sale where everything is free. Donations will be greatly appreciated! Please see April if you have any questions. Thanks so much!
The evening includes a meal and three rounds of team Scrabble.

Please spread the word—the event is $30 per person.
(Those who play on the Friends’ teams' tickets are paid by the Friends.)
IT has completed updates in the labs, so the public labs at all three branches should be upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007. Microsoft has free training available for PowerPoint 2007, Word 2007, and Excel 2007.
